Toshakhana’s custodian informed the Special Court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had retained 108 Toshakhana gifts given to him while in office.
As per details, an allegation has been made against Imran Khan regarding the purchasing of Bulgari jewelry set from Toshakhana at a throwaway price. The hearing of the said Toshakhana case was held inside the Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is imprisoned. The case was chaired by Central Special Judge Shahrukh Arjumand, who recorded the testimony of Cabinet Division section officer Binyamin involved in a Bulgari jewelry set case.
The Toshakhana’s custodian presented the evidence to the court a detailed list of 108 gifts received by Mr. Khan, two official registers documenting gift transactions, and documentation related to an appraisal by a private evaluator.
Arshad Tabrez Bushra Bibi’s lawyers partially conducted the cross-examination of the witness while Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar will complete the cross-examination in the next hearing
It is worth mentioning here that Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan criticized the Toshakhana case, terming it politically motivated. While speaking to the media outside Adiala jail, she compared the case to the conviction of Mr. Khan and Bushra Bibi over retaining a Graff jewelry set.
She also expressed confidence that Imran Khan will respectfully release from Toshakhana and Al-Qadir University case from higher courts. She advised authorities to give importance to national security over political battles.
Mr Khan had rejected offers of house arrest in Banigala, opting instead to fight all legal cases against him, Aleema Khan revealed to the media.
“My brother believes the May 9 conspiracy was aimed at crushing PTI, which is why those who have left the party are roaming free,” she added.
