COVID-19 still looming large in Pakistan: Asad Umar

Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Minister Asad Umar cautioned the masses in Pakistan on Saturday to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during Eid holidays as the threat of the COVID-19 outbreak was at its peak.

In the multiple tweets, he said that the need to be careful was obvious as the danger was higher than earlier and was hitting at our doorsteps.

He asked the people to behave united in following the SOPS issued by the government to achieve global recognition just like they did during the first wave and hoped that Pakistanis would do it this time as well.

Quoting the examples of neighbouring countries India and Iran, he said that the situation was worst in these countries and the lack of oxygen was playing havoc there.

He also shared the example of Nepal where COVID cases were going exponentially high with above 7000 cases daily.

He asked the nation again to follow the SOPs to avoid such catastrophe in Pakistan.
