Renowned academician Dr Shahid Soroya has taken the helm of Lahore Leads University as its 5th vice chancellor (VC).
According to the details, Dr Shahid Soroya who was working as pro-vice chancellor at Minhaj University Lahore has become the VC of Lahore Leads University.
The position of vice chancellor at Lahore Leads University was vacant for last one and half month after the sudden demise of Dr Rafiq Baloch who was serving the university as VC for last almost four years.
Dr Khairat Ibn-e-Rasa (fomer vice chancellor PU), was the first vice chancellor at Leads, second was former bureaucrat Dr Safdar Mehmood, academician Dr Mahmood Ahmad Bodla was the third one while Dr Rafiq Baloch was the fourth vice chancellor at Lahore Leads University.
Dr Shahid Soroya has an experience of working at quite distinguished positions with several prestigious organizations including Punjab Higher Education Commission (Director General, Academics & Research), Information Technology University (Director), Allama Iqbal Open University (Regional Librarian) and Government College University (GCU), Lahore (Librarian/Project Director).
He has done his master in Library Sciences and PhD in South Asian Studies from the University of the Punjab.
