HEC approves Rs1776mln for LCWU’s Kala Shah Kaku campus

Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has approved Rs 1776 million for the phase one of Lahore College for Women University’s (LCWU) new campus. Proposed site of the campus is at Kala Shah Kaku and it will be completed in 3 years.

LCWU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Bushra Mirza announced the approval of the grant on Monday and said that three institutes and boarding houses would be constructed under the project.

Institute of Environment and Climate Change, Institute of Nursing, and College of Law would be the part of Phase-I of Kalashah Kaku’s new campus which consists of 100 acres.

She further said that the management of LCWU was grateful to the HEC for approving the grant for the project as this approval was a milestone for the advancement of the women in Pakistan.

The vice chancellor also said that LCWU was already offering 41 undergraduate programs and the new disciplines would provide market-oriented education to the students.
