Naqvi offers condolences for Chinese engineers’ deaths in Karachi blast

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to pay condolences visited Chinese Embassy in Islamabad after the death of three Chinese engineers in Karachi explosion on Monday, October 7, 2024.

Reportedly, three Chinese engineers were killed and 17 were injured in an IED explosion near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi on October 6, 2024. It was a planned attack on the convoy of Chinese engineers working on a power project in the country’s Sindh province. The separatist Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed the responsibility of the attack.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a condolence visit to the Chinese Embassy. He met with Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the Chinese citizens’ death in the blast.

Naqvi also briefed the ambassador about the blast and government’s priorities regarding the security of the Chinese people in Pakistan. He also ensured that all those behind the blast would be brought to justice. It is an attack on Pakistan-China friendship and entire Pakistani nation is with Chinese brethren, he added.
