Interior minister for cancellation of London attackers’ IDs, passports

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has guaranteed strict action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters for banging the car of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa in London. On Thursday, Naqvi ordered the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to identify the attackers and cancel their CNIC and passports.

As per details, Qazi Faez Isa was invited to a prestigious event organized by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple that is also known as the Inns of Court. It is regarded as one of the four historic and esteemed legal institutions in the world. Qazi is the first Pakistani judge to be elected as a bencher and invited to the Middle Temple. Qazi also studied law at the Middle Temple, and his father was also an alumnus of the institute.

PTI leaders Sahibzada Jahangir, Jahanzeb Khan, Zulfi Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani called a protest outside the Middle Temple against Qazi’s decisions during his tenure as a CJP. The protest ended peacefully, but around 10 activists stayed at the venue of the protest who were led by Shayan Ali. As soon as Isa’s car came out from the Temple’s entrance, the demonstrators tried to stop his car and banged on it. Qazi’s car had Pakistan High Commission’s diplomatic number plate. The activists also shouted slogans against the jurist.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Mohammad Faisal expressed his disappointment over the incident and ensured swift action against the attackers.

It is worth mentioning here that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also guaranteed strict action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters for banging and stopping the car of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Isa in London. Naqvi has also ordered Nadra for the identification of demonstrators to cancel their Pakistani CNIC and passports.

“Further action will be taken after registering a first information report (FIR) in Pakistan. The government will cancel computerized national identity cards (CNICs) and passports of the attackers,” Naqvi added.
