Kashmiris observed October 27 as ‘Black Day’

On October 27 in 1947, Indian army occupied the state of Jammu and Kashmir suppressing the rights of the people of Kashmir.

 

Kashmiris on both sides of the border and all over the globe observed Black Day on October 27 to record their protest against the illegal appropriation of Kashmir by India.

On October 27 in 1947, Indian army occupied the state of Jammu and Kashmir suppressing the rights of the people of Kashmir.

Since then, despite persistent violence by India, New Delhi has remained failed to bend the resolve of the Kashmiri people for freedom. Since October 27, 1947, they are fighting for their right to self-determination.

Adding fuel to fire, Modi led Indian government changed the disputed status of Kashmir on 5th of August last year by making changes in its demographic structure and made the valley its part illegally.

As per Kashmir Media Service, protest demonstrations, seminar and rallies were arranged in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir against the Indian seizure on Kashmir. Participants of the rallies and protests called the Indian government for taking back the special status of the disputed valley.

To mark October 27 as a black day, All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Democratic Freedom Party and other freedom movements called for a complete shutdown in the valley.

Protest demonstrations and rallies were also taken out in all the districts and tehsil headquarters of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark the Black Day.

A huge protest demonstration was also held at Central Press Club Muzaffarabad under the patronages of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.

All the three radio stations of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also aired distinctive programmes about October 27 and its history.
