National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team will be sent from its Rawalpindi bureau to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan’s spouse, Bushra Bibi in the £190 million reference today.
As per details, PTI founder Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was accused in the case of being a trustee of Al-Qadir Trust. In December 2023, NAB filed a reference against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others.
Reportedly, on Friday, the accountability watchdog issued an order to arrest Bushra Bibi for further investigation in the £190 million reference case.
Federal NAB also directed the KPK NAB and KPK police to cooperate with the NAB team in arresting the Bushra Bibi.
The bailable arrest warrants have been issued by the accountability court on November 22 against Bushra Bibi for not appearing in eight consecutive hearings and the court has also issued a show-cause notice to the guarantor of Bushra’s bail.
An accountability court had on November 22 issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khan’s wife for not appearing in eight consecutive hearings.
It is worth mentioning here that Bushra Bibi’s application seeking exemption from appearing before the court has been rejected by Judge Nasir Javed Rana. Bushra Bibi’s lawyers also submitted her medical report issued by Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital but NAB officials objected to the medical report as report notary attestation was done in Islamabad.
