National Assembly passes bill on MPs’ salaries and allowances

The National Assembly (NA) will pass The Member of Parliament  Salaries and Allowances Bill, 2025, today.

As per details, the bill was presented to the speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday during the National Assembly session was held at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

The bill is aimed at empowering Parliament so that its members may perform their functions effectively. It grants autonomy and independence to Parliament to decide the financial matters of their members.

Along with salaries and allowances bill, six other bills were introduced in the House.

These include “The Pakistan Environmental Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2025”, “ The Islamabad Capital Territory Compulsory Thalassemia Screening Bill, 2025”, “The Corporate Social Responsibility Bill, 2025”, “ The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2025”, “The Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2025” and “The Islamabad (Preservation of Landscape) (Amendment) Bill, 2025.”

The chair referred the bills to the Standing Committees concerned.
