Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur has refused to say sorry for his fiery speech during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s rally in Islamabad on September 8, 2024.

As per details, KPK CM Ali Amin Gandapur has refused to apologize for his speech during his speech at PTI’s recent rally in Islamabad.

As per reports, Government of Punjab had given permission for PTI’s rally in Lahore on September 21, 2024 after putting 43 conditions. One of the conditions was the public apology from the KPK Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his derogatory speech. On the other hand, KPK CM Ali Amin Gandapur had demanded apology from the Punjab Government for blocking the roads, targeting innocent people and imprisoning PTI founder Imran Khan.

Reportedly, on September 11, 2024, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President GM Jamali, General Secretary Rana Muhammad Azeem, and Executive Council members had strongly condemned the derogatory remarks of KPK CM Ali Amin Gandapur about the journalists; the CM KPK had labeled and called the journalists “sellout” and “sycophants”.

The PFUJ leadership and journalist community immediately demanded the CM, KPK to withdraw his words and also seek public apology from the journalists. PFUJ President GM Jamali said that journalists are only performing their duties and creating awareness among the people regarding different issues and situations. Journalists are the backbone of the democracy and such remarks are intolerable, he added.

Further, PFUJ called upon PTI founder Imran Khan to take notice of the inappropriate words and indecent behavior of the Chief Minister KPK. In case of failing to do so, journalist community would not only boycott the party’s activities but also start the protest nation-wide, said PFUJ. Other political parties also strongly condemned the CM, KPK’s statements terming PTI’s ideology as of ‘Politics of Violence’.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has already extend an unconditional apology from journalist community and saying that PTI respects the entire journalist community and appreciates their contributions for the democracy.

Chief Minister KPK Ali Amin Gandapur has also issued a video massage in which he has clearly said, “What Should I apologize for?” He said that PTI would start nation-wide protests to save the constitution and independence of judiciary and would hold public gathering in Mianwali on coming Sunday.
