Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has asked Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to continue consultation with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on the issue of proposed constitutional amendments.
As per details, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan met with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail to discuss party matters including the proposed constitutional amendment on October 19, 2024.
Barrister Gohar told in a press conference that Imran Khan asked him to consult Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Fazlur Rehman on the issue of proposed constitutional amendments. We held discussions over the amendments with the PTI founder and he has asked us to continue deliberation as it is very sensitive matter, he said.
“Imran Khan also named four party members to accompany him in the consultations. The names of those party members are leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Omar Ayub, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Ahmed Bhachar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur,” he added.
Barrister Gohar also informed the media that PTI founder also praised the meeting between PTI leaders and Fazlur Rehman about the proposed constitutional amendment with these words, “We will continue to negotiate with Maulana Fazl. This type of legislation is not acceptable and we condemn this method as it is unconstitutional and undemocratic.”
