The Punjab Assembly proposed a resolution to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), while the Balochistan Assembly passed a resolution to impose a ban on PTI.

As per details, following violent clashes between PTI and the armed forces in the federal capital on November 25, 2024, the Punjab and Balochistan Assemblies introduced resolutions to impose a ban on PTI for their actions during the unrest.

Punjab Assembly Member Rana Muhammad Fayaz submitted the resolution to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat, seeking a ban on PTI.

The resolution called for strict action against PTI and labeled it as a ‘disruptive group.’ It stated that PTI operates as a terrorist organization under the guise of a political party, working against the country’s stability and promoting an anarchist agenda.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Assembly passed its resolution imposing a ban on PTI on Thursday. This resolution was proposed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The Balochistan Assembly’s resolution accused PTI of damaging key institutions, particularly the economy of Pakistan.

Additionally, the resolution urged the Federal government to hold PTI leadership accountable for their violent demonstrations. It also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for allegedly misusing state machinery against the state’s interests.
