Mufti Muneeb calls for peaceful countrywide shutter down strike

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, former head of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has called for a countrywide peaceful wheel jam and shutter down strike on Monday (today) in protest of Yateemkhana Chowk incident.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, along with his fellow ulemas, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that they would go on a nationwide wheel jam and shutter down strike on April 19, 2021 (Monday).

On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also favoured Mufti Muneeb in this matter.

It is important to note that on April 18, 2021 (Sunday), police and Rangers had conducted an operation at Yateemkhana Chowk to disperse the occupants of a police station.

However, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab, Firdous Ashiq Awan has detailed the entire scene on her Twitter account.

She wrote, “The miscreants were armed with petrol bombs and acid bottles and attacked the cops at the police station.
