National Library of Pakistan in Islamabad held a dialogue with the title of “Development of CPEC and Possibilities for the Youth” on September 19, 2024. The activity was inaugurated by National Library of Pakistan Director General Raja Javed Iqbal who stressed the need for youth to be informed about CPEC’s implications for their career prospects.
The dialogue panel included Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) Executive Director Khalid Taimur Akram, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Head of Development Communications Asim Khan, and House of Elaan Director Operations Obaid Ayub. All the members of the panel contributed to the discussions in the best possible way.
Khalid Taimur Akram analysed the development of CPEC and explained how it could contribute to the economic growth by creating jobs in different sectors, including energy, transportation, and trade.
Asim Khan talked about the importance of digitization and its impact on the future of young minds. He highlighted various opportunities and exchange programs designed to enhance youth employability with reference to CPEC and threw light on government’s initiatives about on skills development and entrepreneurship.
Obaid Ayub talked about the training programs including Web Development, SEO, and Digital Marketing. He appreciated the role of educational institutions in preparing youth for the opportunities linked to CPEC, mentioning the initiatives curated to incorporate practical training into academic learning to ensure that students fulfill the growing demands of the job market.
The dialogue ended by underlining the importance of getting an active and educated workforce ready to grab the opportunities presented by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
