DHA starts developing Supreme Court Bar Association’s housing scheme

Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has started development work on Supreme Court Bar Association’s (SCBA) housing scheme located on the Park Road, Islamabad.

Reportedly, DHA has started development work on the SCBA’s housing scheme that is located on the Park Road, Islamabad. Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is also a part of the said scheme. The said housing society named as Margalla Orchards is a joint venture of three parties that are DHA, FGEHA and SCBA.

As per details, total area of the society is 8,380 kanals and it has 4,781 residential plots. Out of these 4,781 plots, FGEHA has 2,088 plots while SCBA has the remaining 2,693 plots.

SCBA General Secretary Ali Imran has thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar for taking special interest in the SCBA housing scheme’s development work. He also appreciated them for resolving all the outstanding issues related to the said housing scheme.

Speaking in this regard, Ali Imran also assured the affected land owners whose land was acquired for the SCBA’s housing scheme of the proper compensation of their lands.

SCBA’s senior lawyers have termed the update on the development work after a long time as a sigh of relief.

Senior lawyers of Supreme of Pakistan have said that the start of development work on the SCBA’s housing scheme is a commendable job and all the plots should be handed over to the allottees as quick as possible.

It is important to mention here that FGEHA & SCBA’s housing scheme was announced in 2015 in the pursuance of the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and its balloting was done in 2022. The land of the scheme was acquired in the two villages named Tamma and Moriyan. Now, after nine years, the development work on the society is a welcome step on the part of the DHA.
