Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the economic growth with concerted efforts of the government.
Reportedly, PM Shehbaz Sharif attended the special ceremony in Islamabad in connection with the ‘Day of Development and Progress,’ celebrating the completion of one-year of the current government in power.
The Prime Minister stated that, “Pakistan has made significant progress, shifting from a state of darkness toward light”
He appreciated the whole government machinery for the collective efforts in economic stability and growth.
The Prime Minister recalled that in June 2023, International Monetary Fund program was in confusion, and inflation was heavily impacting the people.
He also appreciated the salaried class and their contribution to paying taxes as during one year the salaried class amounting to three hundred billion rupees, which he credited as a part of the country’s financial recovery.
He said inflation has also declined due to the government’s continued efforts, .
The Prime Minister advised the business community to present proposals to further strengthen the economy.
He assured that the government would collaborate with the businessmen to evolve policies that increase exports and support the local industry.
Shehbaz Sharif discussed the anti-smuggling efforts of the government, said, “Pakistan had successfully exported sugar worth two hundred and eleven million dollars to Afghanistan, which is a result of the government’s strict anti-smuggling efforts”.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
The Prime Minister said the government is focusing on strengthening industries, boosting exports, especially through IT-led exports and enhancing the agriculture sector.
