Sindh Govt begins Solar Home Systems distribution for 200,000 families

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that the commencement of the distribution of Solar Home Systems (SHS) to 200,000 low-income households, aiming to provide sustainable and affordable electricity.

As per details, on Thursday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced the commencement of the distribution of Solar Home Systems (SHS) to 200,000 low-income households, aiming to provide sustainable and affordable electricity.

While speaking at the Solar Home Systems distribution ceremony in Karachi, the CM emphasized that the initiative will support families still recovering from the devastating 2022 floods.

He highlighted that the Sindh Solar Project is a significant step towards energy independence and improving the quality of life for underprivileged communities.

Murad Ali Shah also explained the Sindh government’s target to complete the distribution of all 200,000 SHS kits by July 2025, with a planned rollout of 400 kits per district each week.

It is worth mentioning here that Sindh government initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to promote clean energy solutions and reduce reliance on conventional electricity sources, ensuring energy access for vulnerable communities.
