Monitoring Desk –

Prime Minister Imran Khan spent a day in Lahore on Tuesday due to different political and administrative meetings.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan spent the whole day of Tuesday in Lahore to attend some important political and administrative meetings.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar called on the prime minister to discuss the situation of the province. In this one on one meeting, various provincial issues including COVID-19 were discussed and the prime minister asked the chief minister to resolve the issues and work for the betterment of the province more efficiently.

Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafiq Malik and IG Police Inam Ghani also joined the meeting later on.

The prime minister said that the country had been experiencing much difficult time lately and a few sections were trying to make use of this situation by hoarding the goods.

The prime minister conveyed it clearly that hoarding and unfair profiteering would not be tolerated at any cost and anybody found in it would be punished strictly.

He also directed the chief secretary and IGP to deal with such elements with iron hands.

The same day, the prime minister also presided over a meeting held to review the progress done so far on the Ravi River Urban Development Project.

The prime minster said that Ravi River Urban Development Project was important for not only Punjab but also for the whole Pakistan. He added that this project would provide jobs to our unemployed youth and would also attract foreign investments.

He said that there should not be any kind of irregularities in this project and it should work in transparent way. The project should be completed in time and there should not be any unattended requirement that might delay the project, he added.

Federal ministers, heads of the concerned authorities and bureaucrats attended the progress review meeting.

It is important to note here that Prime Minister Imran Khan has managed to visit Lahore for a day when the political temperature is quite high in the country.

On the one hand, Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) is staging demonstrations across Pakistan against the government while, on the other hand, PML-N is making it difficult for Buzdar to run the affairs smoothly due to ever increasing prices of the goods. In the first PDM rally in Gujranwala, Bilawal had also criticized the prime minister for appointing Sardar Usman Buzdar as the Punjab CM. He even praised PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif as the CM of Punjab and said that “one may have political differences with Mian Shahbaz but he has done something for Punjab.”

Above all, the situation of the economy due to coronavirus is not in a stable condition thus making it hard for the poor to survive.

Punjab is the stronghold of PTI government and the visit of the prime minister at this point of time is clearly indicating that the government is putting some extra efforts to keep the things normal in the province.
