Late at night on Tuesday, the federal government started heavy teargas shelling to disperse the protesters from D-Chawk Islamabad.
As per detail, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership and protestors had reached on the D-Chawk Islamabad on Tuesday. The federal government took action against the protestors and started intense teargas shelling to disperse them.
As per the party Press Release (PR) issued on Wednesday morning in its official X account, “Given the government’s brutality and the government’s plan to turn the capital into a slaughterhouse for unarmed citizens, [we] announce the suspension of the peaceful protest for the time being. In light of the directions” of its incarcerated founder Imran Khan after the party’s political and core committees presented their analyses of the state brutality to him”.
In the press release, PTI also appeals to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi to take suo motu action against the prime minister, interior minister, and Islamabad and Punjab police chiefs in the alleged “brutal murder of martyred party workers.
The PR also confirmed that Bushra Bibi, CM Gandapur, and National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan will hold an “emergency” press conference at 11 am today.
Senior Vice President of PTI’s Hazara chapter Taimur Saleem Swati informed that the press conference will be held at the residence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati in Peshawar.
The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) confirmed the death of two civilians and injuries to around 60 persons, including security personnel. Most of the injured civilians belong to KPK.
