Bushra Bibi accuses Saudi Arabia of involvement in Khan’s ‘regime change’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, alleged on Thursday that Saudi Arabia was involved in a conspiracy against Imran Khan’s regime change.

According to details, a video message was shared on PTI’s official X account, in which Bushra Bibi informed PTI workers about no change in the protest’s date. She warned the authorities that the date could only change if Imran Khan is released from jail.

The video message circulated on social media platforms a few hours after the Islamabad High Court ruled PTI’s protest unlawful and directed the government to take all necessary measures to safeguard the life and property of the people.

Bushra Bibi also alleged that Saudi Arabia was involved in a conspiracy against Imran Khan’s regime change. She revealed that Khan’s visits to Saudi Arabia from 2008 to 2021, particularly his barefoot visit to Madinah, raised concerns in Saudi Arabia.

Without naming any specific country, the former first lady stated: “When he [Imran Khan] returned, [Gen] Bajwa started receiving calls [asking] ‘Who have you brought into power? We’re abolishing Sharia in this country, and you have brought a proponent of Sharia. We don’t want him.’”

Bushra Bibi also warned the police and law enforcement agencies to “not go overboard” in their actions against the party’s peaceful protesters.

It is worth mentioning that Bushra Bibi’s claims have prompted widespread concern within party circles and Pakistan’s political landscape as well. However, the former general has denied these allegations.
