Research & Development Cell (RDC) of the Lahore Leads University’s Department of English on Tuesday organized a lecture on ‘How to get your research published?’ at the Seminar Room of the university. University of Lahore (UoL), Lahore Head of the Department (HoD) of English Dr Saeed ur Rehman delivered the lecture.
As per the details, Dr Saeed ur Rehman who is currently serving the UoL’s Department of English as Head delivered an informative lecture on “How to get your research published?” at the LLU’s Department of English.
The session was presided by Dr Shahid Hussain Shahid, HoD of English, LLU while Fraaz Mahmud Kasuri, Deputy Director, Directorate of University Publications moderated the session.
Directorate of University Publications Director Professor Sultan Mahmood Niazi, Dr Arif, Assistant Professor Liaquat, Lecturer Misbah Iqbal, Lecturer Sulaim Sarfraz, Lecturer Muhammad Farman, Lecturer Tanzila Abbas and Lecturer Sara Zainab represented the Department of English while Dr Mahwish Safder, Dr Gulshan Fatima Alvi and Dr Khadeeja Sittar represented the Department of Education.
Dr Saeed ur Rehman explained the contemporary research culture in Pakistan in particular and across the globe in general. Talking about the corrupt research practices here in Pakistan, he said “Most of the journals in Pakistan are in the race of minting money from the researchers that results in the production of low-quality research input.”
He also explained the procedures of getting research articles published in the international journals and that also without any obvious or hidden charges.
After the question-and-answer session, Dr Shahid presented a gift pack comprising university insignias and official publications to Dr Saeed ur Rehman followed by an exquisite lunch arranged in the Meeting Room of the university.
