Political Science Department at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore conducted two days international conference on ‘Contemporary Trends in South Asian Politics’ chaired by worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz and co-chaired by Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal.
The inauguration of the event was held on January 30, 2024 to intellectually elevate the students and research scholars. Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Hassan Askari Rizvi and distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, (Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, UCP Lahore), Prof. Dr. Irum Khalid (Chairperson, Department of Political Science, Punjab University) and renowned journalist, analyst and columnist Mujeeb-ur- Rahman Shami shared their valuable thoughts to engage academic community with the perspective to promote peace, prosperity and sustainability in the region.
Foreign experts Dr. Joanna Wawrzyniak from Warsaw University, Poland and Dr. Christina Horvath from Bath University, England made their participation virtually to enhance the importance of the conference. Scholars from Hiedelberg University Germany and University of Ghent, Belgium shared their research insights. Respected session chairs and paper presenters from GCU, PU, Kinnaird College, Lahore Leads University, Virtual University, and Forman Christian College University strengthen the impact of the conference.
