Malaysian PM Dato’ Ibrahim in Pakistan for future collaborations

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night. Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in Pakistan for a three-day official visit from 2-4 October.

Reportedly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last night gave a warm welcome to the Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, presenting a 21-cannon salute on his arrival in Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other members of the federal cabinet were also present at the airport. PM Ibrahim has arrived in Pakistan with a high-level delegation to discuss multiple opportunities of mutual interest.

As per reports, a meeting will be held today to discuss the bilateral relations by focusing on strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia ties in trade, energy, investment opportunities, connectivity, halal industry, agriculture, tourism, cultural exchange and people to people contacts. PM Ibrahim will also meet President Asif Ali Zardari.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch talking to media said that both the leaders will also discuss the regional and global development.

It is worth mentioning that in August Deputy Head of Mission for Malaysia Syafik Firdaus Hasbullah, while addressing an event organized by Institute of Regional Studies, Islamabad, had called for mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia in high-tech industry, science, defence, security, technology, climate change, education, culture and renewable energy.
