The Foreign Office (FO)confirmed bomb attacks on Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan by Pakistan’s fighter jets
As per details, Today, FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch officially confirmed in a media briefing that Pakistan carried out the air strike against the TTP camps in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province on Tuesday. This was an intelligence-based operation carried out against terrorists.
According to the statement, Pakistani airstrikes targeted four locations in the Murgha and Laman areas of Bernal district, wounding and killing several suspected terrorists.
During the media briefing, spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed: “Pakistan is united for its people. The intelligence-based operation was conducted by Pakistan in Afghanistan’s border areas”.
She stressed that Pakistan “always prioritized dialogue in matters relating to ties with Afghanistan”.
“We respect Afghanistan’s integrity and sovereignty,” she emphasized.
She asserted that protecting citizens was Pakistan’s top priority, and there were “threats posed by terrorist elements to Pakistan and its citizens. Pakistan is committed to the security of its public,” Baloch added.
After the said incident, the tension between the two neighboring countries accelerated. However, Pakistan multiple times asked the Afghanistan government to take swift action against the banned TTP for using Afghan soil to launch attacks in Pakistan but Afghanistan always denies the allegations.
On Wednesday, Taliban’s spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that at least 46 civilians including women and children were killed in Pakistan airstrikes in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province.
Mujahid called airstrikes as “clear aggression,” and confirmed that the Taliban government would not leave such actions unaddressed. Afghanistan’s territorial sovereignty was the red line for the ruling Islamic Emirate.
