Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with the Denmark Prime Minister H. Mette Frederiksen, on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
As per details, PM Shehbaz Sharif went on a foreign tour to Azerbaijan to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The PM also chaired the Climate Finance Roundtable Conference of COP29.
According to the PM office press statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Denmark’s Prime Minister H. Mette Frederiksen to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, information technology, and climate change. The press release added that Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the areas of green transition and infrastructural development on the sidelines of COP29.
Both leaders exchanged views on enhancing global cooperation on climate change and its impact on the planet.
Shehbaz Sharif recalls the 75-year-old diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Denmark. He further laid stress on strengthening the relations by expanding economic ties through mutual partnerships.
The Danish Premier welcomed Shehbaz Sharif’s views and expressed her willingness to work with Pakistan. Premier also emphasized further strengthening bilateral economic ties and addressing regional and global issues of common interest.
It is worth mentioning here that PM Shehbaz Sharif also held a meeting with his Czech Republic counterpart Petr Fiala. During the meeting, both exchange their views on exploring opportunities for enhanced cooperation, particularly in the areas of economic development and addressing shared regional and global challenges.
