Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has called for a nationwide protest for the independence of judiciary at D-Chowk, Islamabad on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Reportedly, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, PTI founder Imran Khan has made an announcement to stage a protest for the independence of judiciary. As per another announcement, PTI party leaders will start protests in Mianwali, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur from tomorrow (October 2, 2024). Subsequently, a large gathering will be held at D-Chawak Islamabad on October 4, 2024 and then a rally will be arranged at Minar-i-Pakistan, Lahore on October 5, 2024.

Imran Khan’s announcement of the protest has come a day after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur threatened the federal government and Punjab government for a revolution.

In the announcement, Imran Khan also criticized the present government and said, “the government wants to crush PTI according to the “London Plan”. I was put in jail under the same plan. PTI always staged peaceful protests, but the law failed to protect our party. Our women are languishing in jail. A case was registered against an 80-year-old woman, but no one cares.”

“CM Gandapur marched towards Islamabad and rightly said that the revolution was imminent. He conveyed my point-of-view to the people”, he added.

Imran Khan also condemned government’s constitutional package related to the appointment of judges. He said, “We will defend the judiciary and will continue a struggle for real freedom. My wife has also been kept in jail for several months. They want to break me in jail. People should not be afraid of being imprisoned.”

It is worth mentioning here that the article 144 has already been enforced in Islamabad to ban the gatherings of the people.
