Leads organizes condolence references in memory of Dr Rafiq Baloch & Dr Tariq Aziz

LLU Chairman Zahoor Ahmed Wattoo names three buildings at the university after the names of Dr Khairat Mohammed Ibn-e-Rasa, Dr Mohammed Rafiq Baloch and Dr Tariq Aziz.

Lahore Leads University organized condolence references in the memory of former vice chancellor Dr Rafiq Baloch and former head of Urdu Department Dr Tariq Aziz on Thursday in the library hall of the university.

According to the details, condolence references were arranged at Lahore Leads University to pay homage to the departed souls of Dr Rafiq Baloch and Dr Tariq Aziz.

Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Soroya presided over the Condolence reference while Chairman Zahoor Ahmed Wattoo participated as patron. Renowned columnist Atta ul Haq Qasimi was the chief guest of the ceremony.

A large number of people including faculty, students and staff attended the reference to recall the services of Dr Rafiq Baloch and Dr Tariq Aziz for the university as well as for the country.

Dr Muhammad Kamran, Dr Amjad Tufail, Dr Muhammad Alam Khan, TV artist Rashid Mehmood, columnist Salman Abid, Dr Abida Batool, Dr Haroon Usmani, Dr Abdul Kareem Khalid, Dr Irfan Tuaheed, Professor Sultan Mehmood Niazi, Dr Muhammad Iqbal Nikyana and Dr Muhammad Nawaz spoke on the occasion.

All the speakers recalled the wonderful time spent with both the personalities and appreciated their services in the field of academia.

Dr Shahid Soroya, talking on the occasion, said that both the personalities were torch bearers for us and we need to follow their footprints to take Leads to the new heights.

Zahoor Ahmed Wattoo in his address said the university fully acknowledges the services of Dr Rafiq Baloch and Dr Tariq Aziz. He said that Dr Tariq Aziz was his teacher at Formanites Christian College University and he had always been inspired by his charismatic personality. Talking about Dr Rafiq Baloch, he said that Dr Rafiq was just like a brother to him and his work for the university is quite visible even after his death. He also remembered the first vice chancellor of Lahore Leads University late Dr Khairat Mohammed Ibn-e-Rasa.

Paying tribute to the efforts of all the three personalities for the university, he announced to name three buildings at the university after the names of Dr Khairat Mohammed Ibn-e-Rasa, Dr Mohammed Rafiq Baloch and Dr Tariq Aziz.
