Lahore Leads University’s (LLU) Department of Politics & International Relations’ Dr. Sapna Mumtaz has become ‘HEC Approved PhD Supervisor’. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) officially notified Dr. Sapna as its approved PhD supervisor on May 23, 2023.
Dr. Sapna is serving as an Assistant Professor, and BS IR Program Advisor at the LLU’s Department of Politics & IR since November, 2022. She completed her PhD in Political Science from University of the Punjab, Lahore in September, 2022. Before joining LLU, she had been serving at several organizations especially at Lahore College for Woman University, Lahore for last three and half years.
She has published a number of her articles in various HEC recognized national and international journals. Moreover, her expertise lies in the field of media, and national & international affairs, making her a valuable consultancy resource for researchers, media producers, and government institutions. However, in her role as an ‘HEC Approved PhD Supervisor’, it is expected that she will play a significant role in guiding her students in developing a comprehensive understanding towards their research topics, in motivating them to conduct thorough research into the problems or topics they are analyzing, and in inspiring them to frame creative research questions to produce original knowledge, and to think of the practical implications of their research for developing solutions to problems.
Department of Politics & IR Chairperson Dr. Khadeeja Imran appreciating Dr. Sapna for achieving the ‘HEC Approved PhD Supervisor’ status in a very short span of time said that Dr. Sapna is an asset to the department and the students would continue to benefit from her research expertise.
