Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif agreed on Friday to take serious action against Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister (CM), Ali Amin Gandapur.
As per details, PM Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting on Friday. The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, federal ministers, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and senior security officials.
PM Shehbaz referred to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a party of “anarchists and saboteurs.” “It is necessary to tighten the noose around the opposition to strengthen state institutions,” he remarked during the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting to register cases against KPK CM Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi for leading violent protests and organizing a march toward the federal capital during the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko.
The prime minister formed a task force headed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, with additional members including Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and officials from security departments.
According to an official press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office:
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif established a task force under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to identify individuals involved in spreading chaos and violence in Islamabad earlier this week and to take strict action against them.”
To prevent similar incidents in the future, the prime minister announced the formation of a Federal Riot-Control Force. This force will be provided with professional training and necessary equipment in line with international standards.
The meeting also decided to establish a Federal Forensic Lab, equipped with modern technology to investigate and collect evidence of such incidents. Additionally, it was resolved to modernize the Islamabad Safe City project and strengthen the federal prosecution service.
