Great philosopher, thinker, and ‘Poet of the East’ Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal’s 83rd death anniversary was observed today (Wednesday) to honor his services for the freedom of the Muslims of the sub-continent.

Iqbal was a visionary poet and his farsightedness led him to present the idea of a separate state for the Muslims of the Sub-continent, which was finally materialized in the form of Pakistan.

Numerous events and functions were arranged across the country to pay homage to the great poet who, through his thoughts and poetry, urged the Muslims of the subcontinent to strive for a separate homeland for themselves.
